Does the original resistance time of a TRELLCHEM® suit decrease after exposure?

No, unless the suit material is attacked and degraded by the chemical, it maintains its protective capabilities i.e. the resistance and permeation time are not reduced. The key is to do a pressure test and to examine the material after use, to look for changes that would indicate the material is affected/degraded. Such changes are any changes in its physical properties and appearance such as:

  • softness, stickiness, swelling, sponginess
  • hardness, stiffness, loss of flexibility, cracking

See the Trellchem® suit manual for further information about suit inspection.
