The suit material is as it suggests, heavy duty, built to withstand the rigours of diving in a harsh working environment. Whether the job is cleaning a ships hull, carrying out welding and inspection, or clearing a fouled propeller, the VIKING™ HD is equal to these tasks and more.

suit material

Blend of natural and synthetic rubbers (NR/EPDM), on a 2-way stretch knitted polyester lining.
Total material weight: 1550 +/- 100 g/m2.

SEAMS

Internal: Stitched together with an elastic tape for security.
External: Vulcanised with a 25 mm rubber tape.

REINFORCEMENTS

Additional layers of anti-slip textured rubber are applied to areas at risk of wear. The shoulders and zipper are reinforced. The front of the legs from above the knee, down to the boots, and around the boots are also protected from abrasion and puncturing.

COLOUR

Red with black reinforcements, or all black.

ZIPPER

Red/Black suits: Heavy Duty (HD) magnetic; 90 cm long.
Black suits: Heavy Duty (HD) non-magnetic; 90 cm long.

The zipper is gas and watertight, and is placed across the shoulders.

VALVES

Standard configuration, mounted on rubber backing discs:

  • Push protected inlet valve, positioned centrally on the chest
  • Hose: 80 cm long, CEJN fitting
  • VIKING™ X2 exhaust valve with 2 mushroom valves for added security, on the upper left arm

ALTERNATIVE VALVE OPTIONS:
Non-magnetic inlet valves; Apeks inlet valves; Non-magnetic hoses.
Non-magnetic exhaust valves; Apeks exhaust valves.

NECKSEAL

Surveyor latex neck seal as standard.

ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS:
Bellows latex neck seal or Neoprene neck seal. The suit may also be fitted with the VIKING™ Quick Neck system, which allows for quick changing of broken seals.

HOOD OPTIONS

VIKING™ HD suits may be fitted with a wide range of hood options as follows:
Surveyor latex hood + thermal inner hood; Nautic neoprene hood with smooth face seal; Smoothskin hood; Turbo rubber hood; Magnum rubber hood.

YOKE OPTIONS

We offer a full range of rubber helmet yokes, available to fit all of the popular demand and freeflow helmets, such as SL27/37/47 etc, AH3/5, Desco, Deepsea, Genesis, Gorski and Dräger.

CUFFS 

Latex HD cuffs are the standard fitment.

GLOVE RING OPTIONS:
In order to make the suit completely waterproof, it is possible to fit a rubber cuff ring system with fixed external rubber ring, and loose stiff plastic ring, which holds the latex seal in place.

The alternative is a plastic bayonet glove ring system with a plastic ring mounted on the sleeve, and a replaceable cuff held in place with a plastic ring.

Both systems make the fitment of a latex or Viton®/Butyl glove possible. Latex and rubber mittens are available for fitting to the rubber cuff ring system for heavy working conditions.

FOOTWEAR

The standard boot is an extension of the leg, with a heavy duty flexible rubber outsole stitched and taped to the end. 
The outsole features a non-slip surface for grip. The heel has a fin strap retainer.

ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS:
Nitrile safety boots; PVC wellies.
